Our Family is Complete

109 days later and Bailey has come home. Bailey and Wyatt are now together, and we are a complete family. She is finally our baby.

Getting her last bottle at the hospital
She is about to put on her pretty little take home dress. Who could resist a naked baby?!
Momma forgot her bracelet.
Daddy hates my hat but aren't I cute anyway?
I have pictures of Wyatt and Bailey together, but I need something to put on the birth announcements so everyone will just have to wait for those later.
Life is great. Now the hard work begins.

One More to Go

We should be able to bring home Bailey in the morning. What a miracle it is that out of all of this we will be bringing home two babies. October 15, 2009 I thought there was no chance we would have both our babies to bring home. God is good.
Can you just imagine what they will both look like in 1 year. In the two weeks we have had Wyatt home he has almost gained 2 pounds.

Wyatt doesn't know if he is excited about Bailey coming home. He has really enjoyed all the attention. He loves to be in motion. He really has a need for speed.

Visits

Since Bailey has stayed in the hospital extra time it was decided that she could be held by some "outside the hospital" people.

Brianne's Days at Home

Since Brianne has stopped going to school we are spending much more time together. I think I am boring her to death. It is really hard to entertain her when I can barely keep my eyes open. Many days when Lee comes home we have not even made it out of our pjs.

Don't you just love the sunglasses on her head?
Every day she pretends to be something new. One day she dressed up and went to the beach. The next day she used her beach shovel as her crutch because her leg was broke. Here she is my beautiful princess.
I am going to have to keep a close eye on her. She is playing Dr and giving Wyatt a checkup. This morning she said she tried to share her cereal with Wyatt. Yikes!

January 21, 2010

Today is Wyatt and Bailey's official due date. Getting to your due date is a big milestone for a micro preemie. Most micro preemies do not come home till their due date or after so having Wyatt home earlier is really a blessing. We hope Bailey will be home within a week. She continues to have feeding issues and bradys. She is currently off oxygen but tends to go on and off of it. We have been a long way and still have a long way to go.

Thank you God for trusting us to raise these two little miracles. I have learned a lot about myself in the last 14 weeks. These two must have something really important to do here on Earth. I look forward to finding out what that something will be.

Coasting Along

I hope we keep coasting with no more bumps in the road.

Wyatt's guard cat
Don't let the peaceful look fool you. She is starting to show me that she is going to cry as much as Wyatt. She is trying on her "take home" bracelet. She is so small that the preemie bracelet slides off her wrist without unhooking it. It is extremely hard to find preemie clothes, and I ended up ordering their take home clothes online.
Wyatt was sitting in his nap nanny, and someone gave him his stuffed animal. I wonder who that would be?! I am going to have to really watch her because I have caught her doing things to Wyatt that she should not do.

Wyatt's Fracture Leg

We took Wyatt to the orthopedic doctor on Friday, and he was put in a brace to keep his leg stable. We hope it will heal with this because the other alternative is not great. We have learned that Children's diagnosed him with osteopenia (decreased bone density) and failed to mention this to us. Gosh they were such winners. Let's not forget they also forgot to mention the renal reflux.
Hopefully his bones will harden and improve over time without any more breaks occurring.

Pray for Wyatt

Please say a special prayer for Wyatt. He has a fractured leg bone. I will update more later after tomorrow's ortho visit.

Sunday the Big Take Home

My poor Bailey the morning we took her brother away again. She is so mellow. I can't wait to see if she continues to be like this.

Tyler and Brianne get to hold Wyatt for the first time.
I did not get a good picture of Maw holding Wyatt but here is proof that she did.

I caught Tyler all by himself just looking in the bassinet and touching his head. Tyler is such a good big brother and is just a gentle soul.

Saturday Excitement, 01/09/10

Saturday morning we loaded up the kids to go see Bailey and Wyatt. We tried to focus on Bailey because we knew Wyatt was coming home.

Tyler and Brianne touching Bailey for the first time. Sorry Wyatt you will have to wait till tomorrow when we get you home.

Compared to Wyatt she seems to be such a quiet baby. I am sure this will change.

Saturday night when I came back to room in for the night she was again awake and just lying in her bed content as could be.
Wyatt says to get him outta here.
Mommy says please stop crying so people will not think I am killing you. Running the water seems to help. Maybe I should have brought that bear that makes noise.

Last Minute Adventures

12/31/09
Lee and Tyler went "hunting" with Uncle Tim and Nicholas. Tyler had so much fun and wants to go again soon. I am sure when the babies get here he will want to go back even sooner due to lots of crying from the babies.

We took Brianne and Tyler on an overnight adventure to B'ham. We had promised to take them to the McWane Science Center, and Brianne was dying to stay at another hotel. This time I was disappointed in the Science Center because it had been changed, and there was less hands on adventure.
Torture from his sister.... a bed of nails

I know that there will be few adventure for all of us for a while. The babies will not be allowed to go near crowds. I hope we can find new family adventures that will keep the older two happy.

12/31/09

Wyatt and Bailey are both getting so big. Look at their chubby little faces and legs.

Bailey
Wyatt
I don't know if I ever posted that Bailey has hair just like her big brother had at this age. She also looks like him. The nurses also said that she looks like daddy, and Wyatt looks like mommy. Wyatt also has hair like his big sister and looks like her. They make expressions like them also. Wyatt is definitely showing us that he plans to be the boss when he comes home. He likes to cry. Does that sound like a certain little girl I know? I can remember Maw and Granddaddy coming to TN to visit and saying they could not take the crying anymore so they were going to the hotel.

A Weekend of First Experiences

On December 26 Wyatt and Bailey had a first. They were able to touch and lie in the same bed for the first time. She absolutely loved it and went crazy over him. She had her hands all over him and even had him sucking her fingers. He is a typical man. He did not care for it at all. The nurses told me he was the same way when they co-bedded them.

Lee is a sneak. He let my dad hold Bailey for the first time, and I did not even know it. They both came back from the hospital grinning like a possum. It was very fitting for him to be able to hold her. I think outside of us he has really "understood" how serious this was and suffered the most. He told me the other night that when he first saw them it hurt him so bad. He said that he thought to himself that we would never get to see those two come home. I really hope he enjoyed this special moment holding a baby that fought so hard to stay here with us.
RaRa got to hold Bailey on 12/26. I don't know what I would have done through all of this without Regan's help. I know that going through all this with me was hard on her because she lost Cameron. We could never repay her.
Wyatt has a surprise for Granddaddy and RaRa. On Monday he tested positive for MRSA in the eye so off to isolation for the two of the them. Guess all the loving will have to wait till they get home.

Brianne and Tyler got to see Bailey for the first time. If you click on the picture and enlarge it you can see that Bailey is awake.
Tyler and Brianne peeking at Wyatt.
I had all 4 of my children in one room for the first time. You could never imagine what it felt like. I waited 73 days for this to happen.

Christmas with the Grandparents

On the day after Christmas we opened gifts with Maw and Granddaddy. This year Tyler was all about the shocked looks, and I caught most of them on film. Here he is getting his Nintendo DS. We are now trying to find a happy medium on how much time he can spend on it.

Mac is helping Brianne open her gifts. He does not like to be left out of the fun.
Granddaddy and the kiddos
The next day we celebrated Christmas with BeBe and Granddaddy. Brianne getting her twin bitty babies.
This boy loves some Ice Age stuff. He even got pjs which he is so excited to wear. His Ice Age pencil topper was also a huge hit. He wants to take it for show and tell at school.Daddy, Granddaddy, and the kids
We forgot to get Bebe in the picture. She was busy like me taking pictures.Brianne with her boy/girl bitty baby twins. Maw got her the twin stroller.

The weekend of New Years we celebrated Christmas with Grandma and Mr. Steve.
Can you guess what was in this bag? Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs
A Mac Mac pillow
Now Brianne can finally forgive us for leaving her pillow at the hotel on our last vacation.

The kids had a good time over Christmas break. They received way too many goodies so they are on a goody high right now. Hope they are still happy after a few weeks with twin babies at home.
