Vacation Bible School

Tyler attended VBS this week. Brianne is too young to go. He has one more day to go. Last night they had a hot dog supper and the program for K and younger. Tyler did a good job singing.

An Early Father's Day

We love to celebrate holidays early at this house. For one thing the kids will not keep a secret, and I am usually excited and want to go ahead and give the gift. Tyler decided he wanted to make cup cakes for Father's Day. I got home and then remembered that in all the moves all my muffin pans are gone. We made a cake instead and really did not have enough icing.

I am telling you that this is one girl that loves something sweet.
They iced the cake. Truth be known I let Brianne bang on it for a little while and then I finished icing it.
The finished cake...
The kids love to give out presents, but they always take the present to the person and then begin opening it. Last time we gave Lee a present Tyler took everything out of the bag and told him about each thing. It is very funny to watch. We got Lee an Auburn shirt (yuck) and money. The kids wanted to get him an Alabama shirt, but I talked them out of it.

Basketball Camp

Today Tyler started basketball camp. He will go Monday through Thursday from 9-12. It is for one week only. He was so excited that he was standing by the door waiting for us to leave. Why can he not be like this for school each day? He had us there 30 minutes early, and we had to wait in the car. Brianne did not like him going and told me several times there was no reason to leave her Bubba there. He said he like basketball better than baseball. We shall see how he feels at the end of the week.

Making Brownies

Much to the kids delight, we made brownies last night. They wanted to taste some of the batter, and before I knew it things were a little out of hand.

I would say those brownies are going to turn out to taste good enough to eat both of your hands.

Baseball Party and Closing Ceremonies

We had the end of season baseball party this last Saturday at our house. Goodness that took a lot of work and thankfully BeBe, Granddaddy, and Maw came up to help. We had the party outside, and every once in a while we would find a child missing or hear something upstairs in the house. They would often sneak inside especially after they discovered Tyler's dinosaur room upstairs.

We had pizza and many good laughs.
The head coach has an inflatable business so the kids got to have fun on a gigantic slide.
We had cake!! What is a party without cake?
The kids enjoyed giving a gift to the coach.
The kids patiently wait to receive their trophy.
Tyler receives his trophy. This is his main reason for playing.
One last shot as a team.

LLLOOONNNGGG Baseball Season

Baseball will finally end this coming Saturday. It was way too long, and the kids have been long over it. I decided to offer to have the kid's end of season party at our house. I don't think Lee will let me do this again. I have had us busy in the flower beds trying to get it looking presentable. He keeps fussing that if it were up to him he would just throw down straw on top of all the weeds and grass! Let's just say that is not what we did, and it took several days to complete.

Tyler is enjoying being out of school. In a couple of weeks he will start the summer sports program at the YMCA. He will attend for 5 weeks for 3 hours a day, and each week he will do a different sport. The sports he is enrolled in are baseball, basketball, tennis, wrestling, and soccer. Much to his disappointment there will not be football.
