Bailey

Bailey has slowly but surely made some progress sitting up. I think a lot of the problem is sight related. In the last 2 weeks we have seen tremendous improvement in her eye sight. I caught her watching TV the other day. She can now see you when you walk by and will quickly let you know by crying. She lifts her arms up for you to pick her up. It is a wonderful thing to see and experience. She still has a long way to go with her eye sight but through all the prayers I think she is still getting better. Yesterday she saw the case work with the Institute for the Deaf and Blind. We will know what the decision is in around 2 weeks. She said she thought Bailey qualified with diagnosis alone.
I would brag about her weight but the little stinker lost 5.5 ounces in the last 2 weeks. It is NOT true that a baby will eat when it gets hungry. This is especially true for babies with GERD and preemies. I am searching for new ways to add calories.
If you have not seen them in a while you are missing out. They are growing like a weed, and they are just reaching that stage where they are great fun.

Homecoming at School

This week it was homecoming at school. They could dress up each day to different themes. We really enjoyed the day they could dress up tacky. Tyler was not so sure about going to school with his hair sticking up. I had to assure him that everyone else would have crazy hair. Brianne was all for it.

Happy Birthday Daddy, Sept. 23

Brianne picked out the balloons. They included a Tinkerbell, Over the hill, and You're how old balloon. Tyler gave him Poke Mon cards. He said that now he and daddy could play with their cards together.

Wyatt

Wyatt my super champ weighed 16 pounds 9 ounces today. Lee had another smart idea yesterday. He was tired of Wyatt escaping from our bedroom so he put the twin boppy pillow at the door. He said it won't take him too long before he will figure it out. I think he thought a week or two. LOLOLOL Try two seconds he had figured out to push it on the floor and crawl around it.

He LOVES Tyler. I think he is his favorite person. He gets so excited when he spots him.

I think Wyatt and Brianne are going to fight many, many times in the next few years.
No, Wyatt is not pulling up. We stood him there and snapped a picture. He is going to look so funny walking on his little legs.
He discovered the window today and went over and got on his knees to look out. I think this is such a precious picture.
We put Bailey over at the window, and she just smiled.

Bailey would like to brag and tell everyone that she now has 4 teeth that have pushed through. The upper two cuspid teeth and the lower front incisors have broken through. Now if something would happen in the sitting up department. I am still waiting to hear from the state about getting her in home therapy.
That's her evil smile when she thinks about how she will be able to bite Wyatt.
Wyatt knows he is a bad boy so he put himself in the corner. You can't keep him in one place long. He crawls everywhere. I feel sorry for Mac when he gets a little faster.

Bailey had another tooth push through today. It was the upper left cuspid tooth. She is trying to get a mouth full of teeth so she can bite Wyatt when he pulls her hair.
Wyatt started crawling forward today. It will not be long before he is pulling up. He can stand holding on to something for a few seconds.

Trials

Brianne has got a very sassy little mouth on her. All girl nonsense.... Daddy thought he would punish her one day by making her pull grass from the flower bed. HA!! She enjoyed it and wanted to pull more. Tyler was asking when he could go out and pull grass. So much for that punishment....
God, please help me get through this "I don't want mommy out of my sight phase."

On a bright note we have had some cooler weather that has allowed us to get out some late in the afternoon.

Sometimes when you don't nap in the afternoon like you are suppose to this happens. You cover your own self up and go to sleep on the floor.
Please continue to keep my daddy in your prayers. They made a mistake at the hospital when scheduling his test and the test are not till tomorrow.

Teeth

Guess who has a tooth!! On Friday Bailey had her first tooth break through. Well today while we were doing Wyatt's gastric emptying test I discovered he has a tooth. It won't be long and they will have a mouth full of teeth. How does the time go so quickly?

Please pray for my dad. He is having several test run on his lungs and heart tomorrow. Last week he had a bad episode after getting too hot and had to be rushed to the emergency room.

One Down, a Million to Go

Thursday we were officially released from the orthopedic doctor! Now we just have a few million more medical personnel to be discharged from. Frankly, we just keep adding them. While we were there, we happen to see the physical therapist that we had seen previously, and she looked them over. Wyatt is still somewhat stiff on the left side of his neck. I don't know if I mentioned before but he has torticollis on the left side of his neck. She gave me another exercise to do with him. She looked Bailey over and said that because she is at least 25% delayed that she would qualify for in home therapy. She recommended that we contact the Alabama Institute for the Blind and Deaf because they have a really strong program. It was very distressing to hear all of it out loud.

We saw another former NICU patient last week, and we found out from her mom that they have a clinic in Birmingham that I think would benefit us. The clinic follows micro preemies till they are the age of 3. We will get to see a neonatologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, dietitian, and ophthalmologist. They will also have their hearing checked. I am excited to go on Oct 7th and hope that they can help us. It is very lonely to do all of this alone.

EWW Gross

Houdini the Diaper Remover
Someone please tell her she will be in BIG trouble when she uses the bathroom on my floor.
I have never seen a baby that could turn his tongue upside down. Very gross!! He also likes to stick it out like Gene Simmons.

Desperate Times, Desperate Measures

I did something I said I would never do. In a desperate attempt to try to get Wyatt to eat I made homemade baby food. (quit laughing Cindy) The occupational therapist recommended it, so to the store I went. I made sweet potatoes, chicken, and spinach. He ate a small amount of spinach which is more than he has eaten before, but he only threw up the rest. It is definitely not a solution for his problems. It was time consuming, and I don't think it is cheaper than buying jar baby food.

Bailey preferred sweet potatoes in the jar. When she is not hungry she makes a big mess.

Brianne

My baby girl looks so grown up lately. Her daddy took her to the doctor for her 4 year old check up bacause mommy just could not handle holding her down for shots. After 2 shots, one lab draw, and a new shiny toy she arrive back home. LOL She is 34.6 pounds and that puts her in the 50% for weight. Lee could not remember her height, but she is in the 75-80% for height.
