Beach Trip 2009

Friday after Tyler party we went to the beach. We stayed with BeBe and Granddaddy. Friday night we got to see the cousins, and Lee got to yap with his brothers. I wish we could get together more often.
Unfortunately, I did not get many good pictures that night. Here are the only 2 worth sharing.
Brianne and Nicholas in the boat. Tyler is in the picture but you can only see his arm.
Anna Kay and BeBe
Anna Kay gives such sweet hugs.
On Saturday we went to the beach on Granddaddy's boat. Then that afternoon Mike, Jessica, and Merrill came over again. I am so glad they came back so we could spent extra time with them. Jessica, I enjoyed having a cookie cake partner.

Brianne at the beach with her piggy tails (we are asking Santa for more hair at Christmas)
Tyler was the hermit crab king. He filled two buckets with them, and much to his dismay their was so many in the bucket they were able to crawl out of it. He had to keep putting them back. Brianne had a few. but she kept putting sand on them so we did not give her anymore. He was sad to let them go, but we reminded him that he wanted some to catch next time.
Daddy (please excuse the yucky Auburn hat) and Tyler
and Brianne....
Have you ever seen an ice cream boat? It played the music and all. What a great idea.
What better place to have a popsicle. After it melted all over her we just dipped her in the water.
Tyler, Merrill, and Brianne I think she enjoyed sitting with them.

Tyler's Kindergarten Graduation

Tyler graduated last Thursday, May 14, from kindergarten. It was such a sweet program. When they performed Awesome God it gave me chills. I am so glad that we were able to send him to a Christian school.

They performed a couple of songs with bells. They were so funny because of the serious face they all had.

Tyler receives his diploma from Mrs Nolen.

Maw and Granddaddy with the kids

Grandmama, Mr Steve, Brianne, and Tyler

Brianne is proud that her Bubbie did not have to repeat K.

To celebrate his achievement we took them to see Bob the Builder. The kids had a good time. The parents not so much. I was disappointed. The show was VERY pricey and the characters need to learn to speak themselves instead of their voice being recorded.

On Friday the end of the year party was held at Pump it Up. This always a favorite with the kids. I will miss the school, but I am glad for a break from all the driving. We will go to a local school next year.

PaPa Moates

This morning PaPa Moates passed away. He really loved his great grandchildren, and they loved him. Tyler especially loved PaPa and since he has been in the nursing home keeps wondering when he will get well and come home from the "hospital."

Our Busy Week

We have a very busy week planned. Tyler graduates from Kindergarten on Thursday at 9:00 AM. He wishes all the family could come see him graduate, but he understands that everyone has to work at that time. Thursday night we are going to see Bob the Builder's live show. On Friday he has his end of the year school party at Pump it Up. (inflatables) We will leave for the beach after the party for the weekend. My handsome little boy is growing up and will go to school all day starting in August. I almost cried the other day when I registered him for school.

Exercise

As shown by instructor Tyler everyone should get their daily amount of exercise. This is the funniest video I have ever recorded of them.

The Pledge

The Pledge of Allegiance from the mouth of a 2 year old

I forgot to say that she says the pledge without us prompting her. I forgot the words the other day, and she told me what they were. They say the pledge everyday at school. She is one smart cookie.

2 year old Spring Program

What will a mom go through to get her 2 year old to their Spring Program? Obviously a lot. When the tornado sirens are blaring, and your car wiper blades break it is a sign you should just stay at home. As you can tell from the following pictures I did not do that.

When we were sitting in the sanctuary we noticed water coming in the side. This water was coming in a door way down a hall way. We thought it would be no problem. Think again. We ended up having to get the children down from the stage. It covered the entire floor of the sanctuary and was ankle deep at the bottom.
I told you I should have stayed home and from here the flooding only got worse.

I was trying not to let Brianne see me because I was afraid she would cry and want to come to me. She looked so sad and think it was because she had not seen us.

This is when she finally saw me sitting in the front. She kept laughing and smiling. Aren't those some sweet little hands that you could just eat up. She did a good job, and I took some video I will post later.

Grandaddy and Maw were able to make it up for the program. I think on the way home they had to have the van turned into a boat.

When we started to leave we had to wade to the car. We were lucky because we only were wet below the knee. Some people were in water almost to the waist.

I can't believe I had to drive through this water. In the deepest areas I could hear it lapping on the door. I saw several cars in the water with no drivers.

Last I heard we received 10 inches of rain from this down pour that wiped out roads and was the cause of one death.

Weekend Fun

Last weekend we went to the Biscuit's game. The kids love big Moe and were able to give him a big hug.

This weekend we went to the zoo. They have made great strides at this zoo but still have a long way to go. There are still many of the animals in cages that are too small. It made both Lee and I sad.

The playground was the kids favorite.

Can you guess who liked the Mac Mac's the best?
They have a train that passes throughout the zoo.

I got a great picture of Lee while at the zoo. LOL
