Bailey's Achievements

Bailey is still behind Wyatt, but she has also made strides. She now smiles and grabs your face when you get near her. She laughs and squeals. She has started rolling to her tummy and picking her head up like a turtle. This is what Wyatt started doing a few weeks before he started rolling and scooting. I hope this is the case for her also. When she is in the mood she will down a whole bowl of cereal and sweet potatoes. She still loves to roll to her side and suck her fingers. She has mastered the art of removing her diaper.
I wonder if she is so far behind Wyatt because of her eye sight. After the last eye appointment I have really contemplated getting a second opinion, or yet an opinion at all since we have gotten few from the doctor she has been seeing. Today I made the decision to schedule an appointment with an ophthalmologist out of state. We don't have very many options in our state. Her appointment is November 3rd.

Ready for her food
I heard something snapping the other night and it was Bailey rolling the wheel around in her radio. I was shocked that she had found it and was playing with it.

Wyatt's Achievements

The past few weeks we have seen Wyatt have many "firsts." On August 2 he started saying the syllables dadadada. He also started waving bye bye about that same time. He can now sit up really well unassisted. For weeks he has been rolling and scooting backwards everywhere, but the last few days he has been getting up on all fours. He likes to get up on all fours and rock, and it is so cute to watch. He still scoots backwards but he now seems to realize how to turn his body around to get where he wants to go. All of his "firsts" were not good. On august 12th he woke up sick with his first cold. It was very hard on his fragile lungs, and I really thought we would end up in the hospital from a simple cold.
I am happy to say that today (August 26) he had a major accomplishment. He got up to a sitting position by himself!!! Go Wyatt!!!!

Sometimes all that rolling gets Wyatt into a little trouble. He rolls himself into a blanket taco.

New School, New Start

Tyler and Brianne started a new school this year. The school last year lacked the strength in academics that we were looking for. They will both attend the same school, but Brianne will only go till 12:00.

Weeks Past

I am still trying to catch up the blog. It is getting harder to blog because Wyatt is becoming so mobile. He also does not like me out of his sight.

7/29/10
Uncle Michael came up to go to work with Lee so the kids had the chance to "entertain" him for a bit. They love for people to come over so they can show them everything. They were both fighting over who would get to sleep upstairs with him.

7/31/10
Daddy has definitely been watching too many survivor outdoor shows with the kids. In this picture they are survivor people.
8/3/10
Wyatt and Bailey are enjoying the outdoors after a long drive back up to Gatlinburg. Yes we made another trip up to Gatlinburg.

Tyler got to have his first chance at rock climbing in the "up side down house."

We enjoyed a picnic in the park and the kids got to play in the water.

Brianne's Birthday Party

My sweet girl was so very patient to wait till July 24 for her party. To make things easier we just all went to the bowling alley.

I think this is the prettiest cake we have gotten so far. She loved all the fairies it had on it.
The Rigby Men
Tyler picked out Brianne a birthday card and gave her a pink Bass Pro shop truck set.
The new way to bowl.

We were so glad everyone was able to come up at such short notice. We had a good time seeing all our family.

Update on Wyatt and Bailey

Wyatt is a very busy, personable little soul. He loves to smile at people but is very quick to look around to find his mommy and daddy. He really enjoys his big brother and sister. They are like circus people to him. He is everywhere. For the last few weeks he has rolled anywhere he wants to be. He can get his legs under him so I have no doubt that he will crawl soon. He can sit up, but you can't leave him because he gets so excited he topples over. Since the surgery we have had major feeding issues, and he has started seeing both a GI doctor and the occupational therapist. He is down to drinking less than 16 ounces of milk a day, and he does not eat solids at all. If we try to feed him solids he vomits. He has really bad oral aversions, and I think it was caused from the extended intubation. Please keep him in your prayers as we try to figure out what to do for him.
Bailey is a quiet, dainty little baby. She has the tiniest little mouth. She has always loved to snuggle. Holding her at night brings back memories from that first time I held her in the NICU. She continues to amaze us. She is still a few weeks behind Wyatt in everything they do. We have to watch him around her because he loves to do thing to make her cry. In the last day or two she has gotten better at sitting up. I hope that in a couple of weeks she will be able to sit up unassisted. She still loves to lay on her side and suck her fingers. We are trying to get her to roll to her tummy more so she can strengthen her back. Getting her to drink her milk has become easier but by far is not like a normal baby. She LOVES sweet potatoes and cereal and will eat a bowl full at a time.

Don't be fooled by the sweetness of the picture because...
Wyatt will roll across the room just to pull Bailey's hair. She just screams, and we have to intervene. He torments her!!

It is just amazing to see Bailey grab for toys. I think the doctor is amazed she can see and said he is very hopeful. I don't know if I posted before that we chose not to do the MRI. We did not want her to have yet another test if it is not absolutely necessary.
If you don't see these babies at least once a month you are missing a lot. I am so thankful that my dad has slowed down some so he can come up and see them about every two weeks. Bailey loves granddaddy's glasses, and Wyatt is scared of granddaddy's glasses and hat. The combination of the two makes him cry.

It's Bad Enough...

that I have very little time to blog, but all the pictures I was planning to blog were erased. Now I have to start over. I will hopefully have a new post soon. I can't believe how long it has been since I blogged.
