Christmas Morning 2008

Can you say toy overload?! Between Santa and all the Grandparents, Tyler and Brianne got WAY too much stuff. We ended up having to get them up (we over slept) at 8:40. The minute Tyler opened his eyes he started to run into the family room to see if Santa came. I had to hold him back so I could get Brianne up.

She was just in amazement that Santa would leave her so much stuff. When she opened up the first present she wanted us to open it. I had to tell her to open the next one, but after that she had the idea and went from one present to the other. It took her a long time to open her presents, but Tyler on the other had ripped all his open within minutes.

The infamous dinosaur that throws the rocks and bone.

Santa decided to go ahead and bring Tyler's bunk beds. Now if only he would pay the bill for it.

Brianne enjoying her Mac Mac "aka Hello Kitty" tent and sleeping bag. As you can imagine she got tons of Mac Mac stuff.

Ahhhh... 3 months of planning and 10 minutes of presents opening and Christmas is OVER.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve I had to work till 1PM. After I got home Tyler and I made food for the reindeer. It consist of oats and glitter. Tyler enjoys leaving them food each year.

We were going to have dinner at Lee's mom's house so we had to leave the food out before we left. I figured they would be half asleep by the time we made it home.

When we made it to Grandma's house Brianne told me she had Mac Macs in her pocket. Well I knew she had on a dress and stocking so she did not have pockets. She lifted her dress and this is her "pockets." How funny!!! I can't imagine this was comfortable on the 2 hour drive down.

On the way home I was trying everything to keep them awake. I was afraid that if they were allowed to sleep the two hours home then they would be wide awake when we got them home. They were allowed to open a present that came from cousin Curt and his future wife Melissa. It was bag of candy, and boy were the kids happy about that. They also opened their present from Maw Maw and Paw Paw Hutcherson. They both got movies that came with stuffed animals. We had a good night. I wish I would have gotten more pictures at the dinner but I always forget.

Christmas Party at Work

The Christmas party at work was on Monday the 22nd. We had it at work because our department never closes so everyone would not be able to come if it was off site. We all had a good time.

The Traditional Burning of Santa's Letter

Last night the kids burned their letter to Santa. It was just in time for Santa to get it before Christmas. We hope Santa got all the pieces so he could read all the neat things we put on the list.

After the letters were burned we roasted marshmallows. It was chilly so we did not stay out long.

Oh and did I mention we lost our minds and went and bought a new couch. We needed new furniture. It was embarrassing for people to come over because we had no where for people to sit. We had been looking at this set but refused to pay the amount listed. When we went to look at the bunk beds that Tyler is getting for Christmas we noticed that there was a red tag on it. They were selling the floor model at a great discount. The only catch was they do not deliver red tag items so we had to rented a Uhaul to get it home.

Karate Belt Test

Tyler tested for his next belt in karate Thursday, 12/18. Due to the conversion of one type of karate to another we are unsure of the color of belt he will receive. I am surprised they did not receive their belts the same night they tested. I don't know how I like this new company that has taken over the karate at the YMCA.
In the last month Tyler has shown an improvement in his listening and concentration skills at karate. I hope this continues to be the case.

Merry Christmas from Mac Mac

Mac Mac would like me to pass on that he hopes everyone has a very merry Christmas. He is not so lucky. If he doesn't stay out of my tree he will not live to see another Christmas. It was bad enough that he takes the ornaments off, but now he has taken to climbing up the branches. Don't feel sorry for him because I caught him red handed.

Lee's Christmas party for work was on the 13th. Brianne thought she looked cute enough to go with us. She would have entertained everyone.

School Party and Tyler Turns 6

On December 11 Tyler's kindergarten class had their Christmas program. It was followed by a Christmas party for the parents. They did such a good job singing.

I swear I tried to make him look handsome. I put him in a nice shirt and even had him wear his dinosaur tie. He went to class with his hair neatly combed and his shirt tucked in. Did no one notice that his shirt was not tucked in before they had him walk into the atrium? Lee would not let me get up and stop the line so I could tuck his shirt in. Now come on, it would not have taken long and surely he is too young to get embarrassed. haha

Tyler made us an ornament and iced cookies for us. The teacher said she made sure we got the cookie our child made because she figured we did not mind our own child's slobber. Hummm my mind goes back to the blue icing and cookies we made at home....

My baby turned 6 on December 9!!!!
On the day of his birthday we went to eat at the "Peanut place" aka Texas Roadhouse. He loved that they made a big deal and hollered his name out in the restaurant. He also loved the chocolate cake he got to eat. We had his birthday party on the 11th at Pump it up.

Tyler, Brianne and some of his class mates watching the "rules" video

As you can tell Brianne did not like the big slide. I did finally get her to like the jumping houses. I had to go in them with her, and I may have had more fun than the kids.

Poor Tyler was so sweaty from playing in the jumpy houses.

Tyler is such a sweet big brother. He did not even mind letting his sister sit with him while he opened his presents. It is so sweet it brings tears to my eyes.
We finished off Tyler's birthday that weekend when Be Be and Granddaddy came up. The boys went to the movies to see Bolt, and the girls went shopping.

School Woes and George Stays With Us

Brianne has decided that she no longer likes school. She cries when she can see us driving up to the school. They have to drag her out of my arms. I decided to get her a Hello Kitty photo book to see if that helps her. I don't know yet if is is going to work. Wednesday I also had to bribe her with candy.

Cute picture of Daddy and Brianne to go in her picture book

Everything Mac Mac

We went to Christmas City in Ariton 12/5/08. We had to go back to Mom and Dads to see if some of my ornaments were box up down there. Lee went hunting while we went and played. The nest two pictures are of Tyler and Brianne riding the ponies at Christmas City.

We lucked out because this same weekend we got to take George home with us for the weekend.

George even got to go to the grocery store with us on Sunday.

As you can see even Mac Mac liked George.
George now gets to go back to school so he can go home with another boy or girl next weekend. We were able to put some good pictures in George's scrap book so he could show all the boys and girls at school.
I now pray that George does not come back for a long time. Tyler threw him in the floor board of the van and never took him out till I got him out for the pictures. It is too much work for me trying to get pictures developed on Sunday.

Decorating for Christmas

As soon at we got back from Maw's house after Thanksgiving we started decorating for Christmas. Both kids are really excited about Christmas this year. They both love the decorations and singing Christmas carols.

Brianne is at full pout stage here. Even having Mac Mac sit with her did not help.

We decorated in stages over several days. It took us days to get all the ornaments on the tree.

I think this is such a sweet picture. I don't know what ornament they are hanging, but Brianne must have really like it.

My baby is growing up so fast. He can even hang the ornaments.

I came home from working out at the gym and found them all piled up on the couch watching the Polar Express.
