McCain and Palin

Over the last few months I have seen so many blogs that support Obama. They trash Palin by attaching her children, her looks, and her beliefs. The list of things they attach McCain for is endless. I do not think that McCain is wonderful, but very much the best choice when considering the EVIL person running against him. I have decided this blog post will be my avenue to express my opinion. It sickens me that I can't even put a McCain/Palin sign in my yard or on my car because of fear of my safety from Obama "fans." Where I live Obama fans can be down right scary, and they are a mean sort. I have no doubt I could possibly be attached. This video could definitely been recorded here in my state: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCipmnYCKB0

I would never support a man that considers abortion the way to go if you "get in trouble." He believes in out right murder (if abortion is not murder enough) of infants born alive from failed abortions. I am a Christina therefore I believe abortion is wrong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYRpIf2F9NA&feature=related

I also do not believe in redistribution of my wealth. Get you butt out and get a job. If you are not satisfied with what you make then get an education r further the education you have. I am tired of handouts to people that don't need it. The people that need help, namely the elderly, never get help. Is he going to redistribute what he makes? NO!!

I will vote for someone that mirrors my beliefs. I will vote for someone that is of the Christian faith not muslim. If you don't think he is muslim then you need to become educated and watch some of the words that he has used in his speeches.

I do not support socialized medicine. If you think people don't get treatment now you just wait. If you are over a certain age you no longer qualify for many surgeries and treatments. Under socialized medicine you will be treated for cancer, but when your number is called for treatment (months after diagnosis) the cancer will have spread. It will be too late. Many hospitals will be closed down. You say no that can't happen. There is already not enough beds. Well when you are sick you will have to just wait for an open bed. Many health care workers will lose there job. Why do you think we have so many Canadian nurses working in the United States?

I do not want to live in a socialist country. Why did my ancestors fight for our freedom? They will have died in vain.

These are just a few reasons why I am voting for McCain.
***Warning**** If I don't like any comments made against what I have said I will erase them. This is my time to voice my opinion.

I took the challenge on 10/14/08...

Christine on http://smilesandtrials.blogspot.com/2008/10/i-challenge-you.html challenged her readers to make something special for someone and take it to them. Tyler, Brianne, and I decided to make cookies for their teachers. Brianne has two teachers and Tyler one, but after we arrived home Tyler tells me that he hopes we are making cookies for Mrs Twiggs because he loves her. Mrs Twiggs is his teacher from last year. We set out to make cookies for 4 teachers. I got the crazy idea that we would add food coloring to the icing. Note to self: never add food coloring to icing that a 5 year old must use. He wanted to use blue for the ocean. Tyler and I iced the cookies after we put the 2 year old munchkin to bed. Smartest idea I had all day!!!!

You may be asking your self why my child has no shirt on. It is really very simple. I should have taken it off from the beginning but oh no... He dropped a cookies on his shirt and it spread EVERYWHERE. He dropped several cookies on the floor. Icing was all over the counters and floor. Luckily I had extra cookies or there would have been few cookies to go around. When Tyler was icing the first cookie I glanced at him, and he had taken the knife (not sharp) and was licking it. He then was about to start right back up icing. LOL I had to stop that one quickly. I then noticed that since he could not lick the knife he started licking his fingers. Oh my, the mind of a 5 year old. We washed his hand and started over. We made sure we gave the teachers cookies that were minus the germs!!! Tyler would drop a cookie and then look at me and say, "are you mad momma." All I could do was laugh. We really had a good time, and I laughed so much my side was hurting.

I did not get pictures of Brianne helping, but she did help with getting the cookies ready to go in the oven. She has a love for raw cookie dough. Now everyone that reads this needs to get crazy and take the Christine Challenge.
Christine, I did scream your name a few times, and one time I must admit that I said I was going to get you. We had a good time.

Visit to Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum in Calera

Saturday we went to the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum. They let you ride in the train to the pumpkin patch. It was not as big an event as I thought it would be. When you get to the "pumpkin patch," which is really an open area with pumpkins placed around, there is one bouncy house, face painting, tractor hay ride, and a gigantic inflated pumpkin. You stay in this area for about 20 minutes. The entire event takes around 1 1/2 hours. All the workers are volunteer!! That is amazing to me that all these people love kids and trains so much that they volunteer their weekends so people can come and enjoy the trains. They have a monthly dinner train that I would like to attend. (without kids) The kids enjoyed the train ride, and it was all so exciting to Brianne. She has become such a chatter bug, and she talked nonstop all day. Afterwards we all needed a nap from all the talking.

They do an excellent job keeping the trains up.

She thought she was so pretty after having her face painting. She is the ultimate princess.

A Busy Few Weeks

We have been super busy this school year. I have been really working with Tyler. He was not doing so well the first few weeks of school so I went to Books A Million and bought a book to start teaching him. Tyler is READING!!!!! It is amazing what a few weeks will do.

Yes, we are eagerly awaiting Halloween. As you can tell these are their costumes from last year. We took this picture September 19th when we got new Brianne's costume (we will leave the new costume a surprise). We did not get Tyler's till a couple of week later. We are excited about having a house to decorate this year.

We have problems. This is typical Brianne in the time out corner. She loves it, and she will sometimes put herself in the corner. YIKES! Back to the drawing board for some type of punishment for Brianne.

On September 23 we celebrated Lee's birthday. Tyler thought he needed a kid themed birthday cake. Now what adult doesn't like a Nemo birthday cake? After we had a piece of cake Tyler told his dad that his birthday party sure was fast.

Note to self never buy a paint project from a dollar store. The paint is sure to be old and dry. Tyler enjoyed painting the ornaments, and luckily we had paint left over from a previous project.

Last Trip to Gatlinburg for 2008

On September 6 we left for Gatlinburg. Although Tyler was in school we decided to stay the entire week. This will be the last year we can do this because next year Tyler will be in 1st grade. I asked the teacher what he would miss that week and taught him while in Gatlinburg. It was so nice because it was not as busy up there, and we did not have to wait in lines at Dollywood. The more I think about it the more I think maybe we can get away with it one more year. What do you think?

What should you not give a 2 year old in the car to help her stay awake? Chocolate!!!! Oh and do I detect some hair growth?

We took them to a Rainforest zoo. I call this animal a goat, but obviously there are people that want to call it an African goat. At firs Tyler would not touch it, but when Brianne ran up to it and started hugging (she tried to kiss it, YUCK) it he warmed to the idea. There were many types of birds and reptiles. There were so many snakes that I had very few places in the building that I could open my eyes. I am terrified of snakes. They even had cobras, and I personally think that is a dumb idea. I wish snakes would have become extinct like the dinosaurs.

Tyler got to go on the stage at Dollywood when they were having the Eagle show. Dollywood has a sanctuary for eagles that have been injured and can never be released. They do release their babies and to this date have released 97.

We went on much faster rides than this, and when we finally made it to this ride Brianne seemed bored. Go figure.

We saw turkey, deer, and wild hogs at Cade's Cove. I know these are all animals we could see at home.

OK since a couple of you noticed it and commented, I will put one picture of me on the blog. I don't like cameras when they are pointed at me.

We became brave and decided to let Brianne try this ride. The ride attendants were so nice and said that they would always stop the ride if a child does not like it. Well she did not, and we got off. Personally I was relieved because I did not like it. The workers are so nice at Dollywood. The majority are retired 65+ and just love being around kids.

Tyler and Lee went fishing while Brianne and I took a much needed nap. Did I mention that Tyler sleeps with us (he is bad news in the bed), and Brianne gets the other bedroom all to herself. She has us beat down. She has always been such a bad sleeper away from home that we are scared of her.LOL Don't know what we will do when we attempt to go to Disney World in March. We will only have the one hotel room with no extra room to place her in. Maybe I will stay home, and Lee and the kids will go.

We were on our way to the Magic show. She is holding the brochure for the show. She would not go to sleep each night without it. Of course we will stand on our head if that is what it takes to get her to go to bed. The whole reason we went to the magic show is the tiger. It ended up being a very good show, and we would recommend it to anyone who is in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN area. My baby is getting so big. Look at her long legs. She is so tall for 2.

Here is the tiger that Brianne lovingly calls Mac Mac. She wanted to get in the cage with it and cried hysterically when we left. Before anyone says "that poor animal," I would like to say he is very well cared for. He lives at a zoo with his trainer when he is not at the show. He was so affectionate with the trainer. The trainer told us about her experiences with the cats she trains. She also told us about a sanctuary in TN that houses 200 big cats. What a giving and loving person to take on such a large responsibility. Please go and visit their site. www.tigerhaven.com

We managed to take a couple of days and just to relax and picnic in the park.

Did I mention that I got pulled on the stage at the magic show? I bet you would love to see one of the pictures Lee took of me. Sorry!

Tyler Earns His Yellow Belt

Tyler has earned his yellow belt in karate. He would have gotten it earlier, but he has had some problems listening and following directions. To be honest there has been some nights where the entire class did not listen and follow directions. Tyler is even at the point where he does not want to take karate anymore, and I think it is because we keep telling him he has got to improve his listening skills. We will continue to make him take because we feel it will help him in the long run. If you have kids near this age and you have a suggestion on how to improve Tyler's listening and following direction skills please speak up. Tyler is by no means hyper, and he defintely does not have ADHD. I think that alot of it is that he is a boy and is only 5. Still speak up if you have a suggestion.

Mr Reeves giving Tyler his new belt and certificate.

Maw Turns the Big 6-0, August 23

For Maw's (my mom) 40th wedding anniversary and 60th birthday Pam and I decided to have her wedding rings restored. All the diamonds had fallen out. It turned out so pretty. We all went out to eat in Troy for for her birthday.
